Beach Bingo Cards

How to play beach bingo

1. Give each player a card and something to mark squares with.
2. The caller reads words from the caller's list in any order, ticking each one off.
3. Players mark a word when it's called. The middle square is free.
4. The first to complete a row, column or diagonal shouts "Bingo!" and the caller checks the card.

Before you call a word, give a clue or a fact about it and let players guess. It turns a game of luck into a quick review.

Good to know

• Most beach sand is made of tiny grains of rock and minerals, especially quartz, worn down over thousands of years.
• Tides are caused mainly by the Moon's gravity, and most coastlines see two high tides and two low tides about every 25 hours.
• Sunscreen should be reapplied at least every two hours, and right after swimming or sweating.
• Safety tip: teach kids to swim near a lifeguard and to swim parallel to the shore if they are ever caught in a rip current.
