How to play camping bingo
- Give each player a card and something to mark squares with.
- The caller reads words from the caller's list in any order, ticking each one off.
- Players mark a word when it's called. The middle square is free.
- The first to complete a row, column or diagonal shouts "Bingo!" and the caller checks the card.
Before you call a word, give a clue or a fact about it and let players guess. It turns a game of luck into a quick review.
Good to know
- The first known printed s'mores recipe appeared in a 1927 Girl Scouts guidebook under the name "Some More."
- A compass needle points to magnetic north, which is close to, but not exactly the same as, the geographic North Pole.
- Safety tip: always fully drown a campfire with water and stir the ashes until they are cool to the touch.
