How to play St. Patrick's Day bingo
- Give each player a card and something to mark squares with.
- The caller reads words from the caller's list in any order, ticking each one off.
- Players mark a word when it's called. The middle square is free.
- The first to complete a row, column or diagonal shouts "Bingo!" and the caller checks the card.
Print 2 cards to a page to save paper, cut them apart, and use candy, cereal or buttons as markers. The caller’s list on the last page makes calling easy.
Good to know
- March 17 is traditionally the day Saint Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, died in the fifth century. Legend says he used the three-leaf shamrock to explain the Holy Trinity.
- New York City's St. Patrick's Day parade dates to 1762, older than the United States itself, and Chicago has dyed its river green every year since 1962.
- Blue was the color first associated with Saint Patrick; green took over later through the shamrock and Ireland's nickname, the Emerald Isle.
