How to play food bingo
- Give each player a card and something to mark squares with.
- The caller reads words from the caller's list in any order, ticking each one off.
- Players mark a word when it's called. The middle square is free.
- The first to complete a row, column or diagonal shouts "Bingo!" and the caller checks the card.
Before you call a word, give a clue or a fact about it and let players guess. It turns a game of luck into a quick review.
Good to know
- Botanically, tomatoes, cucumbers and corn kernels are fruits, because they develop from a flower and contain seeds.
- Honey stored in a sealed container can last for an extremely long time; edible honey has been found in ancient Egyptian tombs.
- Strawberries are the only common fruit that wears its seeds on the outside.
- Activity tip for seniors: after solving, invite everyone to share a food memory tied to one word on the list.
